Morning breakfast at Palio, yum! The breakfast buffet spread is scrumplicious! There are the usual scrambled eggs, salmon slices, bacon, assortment of cereal and yogurts, muesli (my fave!), waffle, cheeses, salad, cherry tomatoes (children's favorite) and much more. Too bad my tummy is not feeling well, I'd been having diarrhea since 2days before coming to Singapore. Thus not able to eat much at all. As it is, my diarrhea run throughout the trip :(
Had quick showers and children watched Cartoon Network while waiting for 爸爸 and I to pack. As there is a digital weighing scale in the bathroom, we check out the children's weight as well. 姐姐 is 20.7kg, and 弟弟 is 15.1kg.
Outside Hotel Michael, Adam and Eve statues. Hotel Michael is right next to the brand stores which we didn't have time to explore.
The Thinker replica outside... do you know that 爸爸 doesn't know anything about the Thinker, the famous statue? Sigh.....
Walk a couple of mins down some stairs.. and reach Lake of Dreams
A cartoonish Merlion along the way. It's very 晒, that's why the expression on 弟弟's face.
Not sure if it's Candyland or what, a candy shop with such cute decors outside
Outside Universal Studios, the signature globe
See the long queue? Even though it's a Friday when we visit, there is a huge crowd. Luckily 爸爸 醒目, bought the tickets in the morning. And we're able to do that because our hotel is just a skip away :P Aih, we should be more 醒目, seeing the crowd we should get the express ticket. 有早知就...
Inside, the fun begins
Seems like this statue is of the founders. The day is really hot and humid, 晒到晕.. It's not so suitable for such amusement park for us who grow up in tropics and doesn't like the heat. We really did sweat like just have shower and in bad mood while queuing due to the heat and humidity. In future, I'd rather go to temperate country for such amusement parks. Even Genting Highlands is much better for the cool weather :) Kena promote own country abit after comparison la....
First stop at the Madagascar, King Julien's Beach Party-Go-Round, waited more than 30 mins. One good thing about Universal Studios Singapore is they have water fountains at the waiting area. They play the "move it move it" music here, but loud music only add to annoyance when your feet are sore and tired of waiting and sweat running down your back and everywhere on your face :)
Finally got on the ride
Not sure what is this place but 爸爸 wanted to take a photo.
Queue for 40 mins to get into Shrek 4-D Adventure at Far, Far Away. Queue snake outside, where the hot sun burns. Luckily inside the castle, it's air-conditioned. The show is about Shrek. Since we didn't watch the movie, not much feeling here. But the part where the spider came is very life-like ;) 姐姐 screamed that spider on her feet. But 弟弟 being too small did not feel it. Overall, quite an adventure for the children and they like it.
After the show, at the Merchandise store inside the castle is the Magic Potion Spin.
After that, back to Madagascar for A Crate Adventure boat ride. Queue is nearly 1 hour! It's super ultra hot here in the afternoon time while we're waiting, gosh.... Proof in 弟弟's wet head even after we got on the ride. This is a tame ride with more notable scenes from the movie
We got on Enchanted Airways next before lunch, which is the children's roller-coaster. Don't underestimate, as I'm afraid of heights ler. I held 姐姐's hand tightly. 姐姐 say I scream the loudest. And she told us she didn't close her eyes at all during the ride and she enjoyed it. 弟弟 say he enjoyed it, but he say he closed his eyes as the wind is too fast :)
After that lunch at Goldilocks. Got a Woody Woodpecker lunch box with the kid's value meal. Food is just fried chicken, fish fillet burger (fried) and nuggets and soft drinks, but can't be choosy when all the restaurants are full to the brim.
Outside the restaurant. Actually I saw a mascot, the cat from Shrek around here, but misunderstood 爸爸 that he didn't want a photo.
Take photo at castle where Shrek 4-D is. Too many ppl trying to take photo and this girl didn't wait for her turn while we snap 弟弟s photo.
The Lost World water fountain
Dino-Saurin'. 姐姐 didn't like sitting with me as I can't make the dinosaur "soar". Have to press a button to make the thing go high and as I'm afraid of heights, half-way pressing I let go :P
Went to watch WaterWorld, this is a live show with "splash" zone. We're seating quite safely away, but some folks at the splash zone really kena :) Fun show, with lots of explosions. 弟弟 especially enjoy.
Ancient Egypt
Treasure Hunters. This is the longest wait for a ride,60 minutes! 弟弟 start to get tired of waiting, he wants me to carry him. While carrying him, he fell asleep. That's when I saw another boy wanting his parents to carry too (triple 弟弟's size, pity his parents). Finally got on the ride. Very fun for the kids as they get to "drive" a jeep. There's a portion where the bugs scene is replicated, 姐姐 hate it most there, but 弟弟 like to see bugs :P
A truck outside Treasure Hunters.
Walking around Sci-Fi City. The water here are used to generate power for some use on the theme park. 环保哦.. Children more fascinated with the "adult" roller-coaster, and so excited when the blue and red line zoom past. Nothing here suitable for children though, and don't even think about getting me on this type of ride, hehe.
New York New York... oops, not that it look anything like the New York I've been to.
Resting near the lake, legs feel like going to fall off anytime soon.
Had dinner at fancy Chinese restaurant, think it's called Hollywood China Bistro. Quite good, but pricey. 弟弟 love the 烧肉. These 3 gotto have rice you know. I'd settle for western food, pizza or the likes anytime :)
Started to see mascots, starting with Woody Woodpecker.
Then the funny penguins from Madagascar. We're one of the last ones to get the photo. The penguins went to dance the "move it move it" song after taking photos.
Ride the Party-Go-Round again.
Saw Kungfu Panda right before we went to get Universal Studios t-shirts for the children. 姐姐 feeling cheeky even pulled his tail when she's walking away.
Girl Woodpecker.. forgot the name. Seems like more mascots at night, or is it because we're near Hollywood?
Final photo at the signature globe. We didn't wait for the 9pm fireworks as need to wait another hour. We left ~8pm, dragging our tired feet to take our luggage from hotel and move to the next one at Orchard Road.
