Ben 10 Meet and Greet at Gurney Plaza

We manage to see Ben 10 character at Gurney Plaza even though we arrived late. It was games with Ben 10 for the kids with tickets, guess-the-number to win tickets and photo session. I think it finished in 30 minutes. The Ben 10 character in his costume was walking around Gurney Plaza (with a staff) after that to go back to the office I guess. We only got a few far away shots with the Ben 10 character as we didn't buy the merchandise to get tickets for meet and greet. This is the first time we have been to a character meet and greet session which must purchase merchandise.

After that happy munching at Sakae Sushi (again!!!!! why they like it so much). It's the first Sunday of the month, children's day promotion. We found out we have to ask for the Sakae cap. Too bad we forgot to bring the discount voucher that 弟弟 got, so we will be back (again!!!).

Meet and Greet Spider-Man Character at Gurney Plaza

This one's cute, wanted the children to be aware of the new happenings in town :) There's a meet-and-greet Spider-Man session at Gurney Plaza. Of course it's not the actor in the new Spiderman movie, but just for fun for the kids you know. Now, when is Batman going to be in town? :D

The children enjoyed running and goofing around while waiting for the "man in costume".

Today, they said they had 2 dinners. First we stuff them up at Sakae Sushi with their favourite sushi (before the Spider-Man session). Then, after their turn to take photo, we went to Nando's. It's been ages since we ate at Nando's, and now that they are full, 爸爸 and I jump at the chance to have the hot and extra hot peri-peri chicken :) Since they are already full, they have a little of our side dishes only, the Mediterranean rice, coleslaw and chips. They ended up finishing most of the side dishes.

Dessert at 鲜芋仙 Meet Fresh, Gurney Plaza

It's public holiday! As we missed our outing for quite some time since 爸爸 is always travelling, he brings us out for lunch. Just discovered this new dessert shop at Gurney Plaza called 鲜芋仙 Meet Fresh. They sell Taiwanese style dessert, considered reasonably priced for Gurney Plaza. RM6.50 for most of the hot/cold desserts, up to RM5.90 for most of the drinks, of course there are drinks like shaved ice which are more premium range. Loads of people there during the weekend we were there. See the queue, never stops the whole time we were there. The bowl of dessert is big, right?

Smurfs at Gurney Plaza

Gurney Plaza Penang is having activities with Smurfs theme. Even at the cinema floor, you will see Smurfs cartoon hanging everywhere. If you like Smurfs or 蓝精灵 then by all means check out the display at New Wing. On 8/27 they will have children coloring contest and mushroom making contest too. We thought of joining but 姐姐 have extra classes and 弟弟 have replacement music class on that day and won't be able to make it. Too bad... they were so excited as they thought they could join a coloring contest.

Both the children have never heard or seen Smurfs before. I wonder if local TV is still showing the cartoon. For me, I had watched Cantonese version from HK before and also shown locally in English.

Shopping

Went indoors shopping again in this unpredictable weather and month. I'm guilty of using phone to entertain them and snap photos while waiting for breakfast.

Looking for girl's umbrella

Ballet class teacher Ms Tiffany gave us a 难题. 姐姐's class is presenting umbrella dance for the ballet pre-primary exam end of the year. So each girl need to prepare colourful umbrella for the dance. 爸爸 searched almost all the shopping malls in Penang and couldn't find it. Even I went to Bukit Jambul Kompleks with lots of knick-knack shops also not selling children's umbrella. Only one shop sells children umbrella, but it is with Spiderman design. Well, can't be expecting 姐姐 to perform ballerina dance with Spiderman right? :) Murphy's Law: When we are looking for something specific usually we can't find. When you're not looking for it, it's right in front of you. Sigh...

End up we manage to find one at Parkson @ Gurney Plaza, they are having Barbie promotion. While looking for umbrella we walk around as well.

Gurney Plaza having World Cup promotion, so the children hv turns to kick football. Suppose to kick into the holes, but they just kick at the wall.
