Transformers at Gurney Paragon

A first for Baby Orange - going out with us! He's actively breastfeeding so we only go to place which has baby room. First choice - Gurney Plaza.

I think this is after first feeding at Parkson Gurney Plaza. Dunno why 哥哥 has a funny expression :P

After meal. 哥哥 helped to carry our mother's bag (gift from friends, thank you!) which held Baby Orange's necessities for outings - such as wet wipes, diapers, hankies etc. This big tree is outside Nando's.

First we went to Gurney Plaza for lunch at Nando's. This is one of 哥哥's current favourites, he likes the kid's meal with chicken burger. Cherry also likes the kid's meal with chicken strips. Baby Orange allowed us to peacefully have our lunch. I went to the baby room at Parkson Gurney Plaza to breastfeed him in comfort. At first he is not used to it, and keep looking around but he did feed after a while.

Later we went to Gurney Paragon to catch the Transformers display at Gurney Paragon. We walked over from Gurney Plaza and the walk is still ok with baby stroller. Gurney Paragon has the massive 23 feet Optimus Prime on display! It's Bumblebee too! Although he is not as huge. I didn't get to watch Transformers 4 due to confinement so definitely not missing this one. We took loads of photos. Too bad Gurney Paragon charges an arm and a leg for entrance for up-close photo opportunity (forgot how much is the entrance, in the range of RM100 or RM200 purchase from the stores or something). That's why we just took from the entrance and from the first floor. Doesn't make too much difference to me, even if you go up-close, they had these ugly red and yellow "stay away" tapes and uglier barricade walls at the sides anyway.

I didn't know there isn't ANY SINGLE ONE baby room at Gurney Paragon. After trying to get angles etc, it's time to feed Baby Orange again. After all, he's all of about 2 months old and needs to feed 1.5 to 2 hours. Walked all around Gurney Paragon and we only found baby changing rooms with a toilet meant for the disabled. OH MY GOODNESS!!!! High-end shopping and baby-feeding doesn't mix is it? Probably the people in charge there don't expect babies who are breastfed to go shopping or dining with the family. Hm! But they still hold loads of events for kids and tried to attract families to visit, how contradictory of them. We went back to Gurney Plaza for Baby Orange's feeding.

Kuan Yin Temple 观音亭 (Goddess of Mercy Temple, Penang)

Another first visit for Baby Orange after the head lice incident at our home. We went to Kuan Yin Temple for prayers. It was hot and smoky so his expression is a little off.

At Kuan Yin Temple 观音亭. All of us in our short hair and Baby Orange with newly shaved hair. 

As the Kuan Yin Temple is under renovation, all the joss-stick and oil offerings and prayer papers burnings are to be conducted outside. There are many areas cordoned off too. Hopefully the renovation will be finished soon.

St Anne's Festival 2013, Jeti Pulau Aman and Gurney Paragon Mall

It's known as St. Anne's Annual Novena & Feast Day Celebration, but we keep calling it the St Anne's Festival. Again, this is a first for the children. We manage to find time to go during public holiday before the actual big celebration weekend. To avoid the big crowds, we go in the afternoon. I think next time we might try coming in the morning.

We went to touch the feet of the 圣母像 St Anne and St Mary statues in front for blessings.

After making our offerings, we took a stroll around the grounds. It's a hot sunny day, and less hazy compared to the whole week.

Since we're near to Hutan Lipur Cherok Tokun, we paid a visit. We only took a short walk around the jungle trail.

弟弟 saw a big worm, yucks :P

After that of course it's dinner time (弟弟 say it's lunch time since he didn't have any lunch after a big breakfast). We had seafood at Bukit Tambun. No photo of food as we ordered the usual stuff.

Jeti Pulau Aman

On the way back, since it's still bright, we followed the signboard to "Jeti Pulau Aman". This took us all the way past the Batu Kawan Stadium, past a Taman Cassia. The road there is ok, but the way back is rickety. The view is breath-taking. The sun sets so fast, that one minute we see the orange sun, the next it's gone beyond the hills of Pulau Aman. Loved the colours of the sky in the photos taken by 爸爸. Saw a banner this jetty is called "Jeti Batu Musang, Batu Kawan".

Walked along the Jeti Batu Musang, Batu Kawan or commonly called Jeti Pulau Aman. Can you see the second Penang Bridge in the background? Well, it's there.

Gurney Paragon Mall

Didn't want to be indoors only family, but there's some new activities at the malls. The newly opened Gurney Paragon Mall is unique, it's a concept mall and the heritage building St. Jo's is here. We've gone past it so frequently that we didn't think twice about it. But next visit, will sure bring the children to take a look and photos, haha.

The 3-D "aquarium" or pop art at Gurney Paragon Mall, L6 right after Switch. They are tiptoeing so that we crop off the barrier line. Too bad the section near the dolphin is uneven, thus making it flawed.

There's a barrier though, so I guess they didn't want people in there.

Justfood is casual food-court atmosphere but slightly premium price (of course the rent at Gurney Paragon must be expensive la :P ).We ordered Kimchi Stew from Bee Won Korean Food (RM15) and The Hamburger from Hamburger Inc. Amazing, only tofu, kimchi, some oyster mushroom, onions yet can be considered flavourful (although the one I had at Sunshine food court many years back tasted much better but it closed down). I think there's a lot of Korean MSG in the Kimchi Stew as I felt really thirsty after eating. The Hamburger is on charcoal bun (maybe they were too busy and didn't toast the bun enough) and the meat patty is slightly peppery and dipped in BBQ sauce. Kids didn't like the peppery taste though.
