No 3D poster like at QBM, so have to do with this one one the wall at waiting lounge |
Once Cars2 started, surprise, surprise, it is really something. It's hilarious, cute and exciting! Honest, for both kids and adults, boys and girls. I went in with no expectation, I came out with full respect for the folks who made a good show for the kids and young-at-heart. There's so much action scenes in there and they are infused with humour. We were all laughing hard at some of the funny moments. There is British spy Finn McMissile, goofy Mater, smart girl spy Holly Shiftwell, archrival Francesco Bernoulli and the usual Lightning McQueen and team. The spy cars and global race theme took us around the globe Cars style, there's a lot of details and "Car-ification" that went into the background sceneries as well. However one major Cars character did not return for Cars2 which is Doc Hudson. From what I found on Pixar Wikia, Doc Hudson passed away prior to Cars2 and there are quite a few things done in memory of him. His home became a museum and the Piston Cup was renamed after him. Lightning and Mater talked about him too in Cars2. The folks at the film feel that the character Doc should have passed away just like the actor/director Paul Newman who voiced Doc. Sad.... as Doc was an amazing character, especially when he scolded Lightning. Don't be too sad though, as Doc had really became an icon in Cars2.
Overall the mood while watching is really cheerful and upbeat, can hear even 爸爸 laugh LOL. So never trust any more movie reviews, we are our own judge. After all, it's entertainment we want.
