Yamaha JMC assessment

姐姐 just finished JMC exam. She was a little nervous, singing a bit off tune :) First teacher ask to sing solfege for melody learnt in class. Then it was listening and identify 3 successive chords (she got wrong but realize her mistake). After that is singing her chosen song, A Special Telephone. Then it's playing the 3 pieces she chose, Marionette Dance, Falling Leaves and The Dove. Lastly is identifying the phrase/notes which teacher point out from the Primary 4 book. Mommy get to sit at the back of the studio to observe. Teacher say next stage moms and teacher not allowed, but that's another 2 years from now.


Next week she'll be starting on JXC.

CNY fireworks display

We went to check out the CNY fireworks display. They are at Conifer Park. The performance is too loud, so we did not go to see. Here they are at the "ship" and right at the highest viewing tower.

The fireworks, can see very clearly at Conifer Park.

These are so backdated I had to copy the dates from the photo details :P 1/9: 弟弟 already gian the motorcycle kiddy ride for long time. I wonder when they are teenagers will he insist to ride a bike? I'm not sure if we'll allow if we can help it, traffic is so dangerous nowadays.


2/13: CNY decoration at Gurney Plaza


2/20: Met a cheese mascot from Pizza Hut for their new 6-cheese pizza promotion. We quite like this pizza but it's really very salty.

Chinese New Year celebration at school

The children having CNY celebration at school, so they are encouraged to wear CNY clothes to school. We let her wear her cheongsam from last year. She requested to wear school shoes as her new shoes are slippery. Some girls even wear boots. Can you see her in the photo I took, she is in pastel cheongsam :) Even though only 4 classes per year, still this crowded during pickup time.

She got an ang pao and mandarin orange from teacher. I found later that it's PIBG contribution for the ang pao. Still she's very happy to get special gift from school. It's good that school teaches about CNY celebration.

Chinese New Year

Having 除夕 dinner, kids having old style ice-cream potong. 弟弟 caught on camera trying to grab cousin Alysha's ice-cream. Both 姐姐 and 弟弟's clothes are gifts from 公公.
