Celebration of Learning 2010

This is the 3rd Celebration of Learning that we attended. It's a showcase of what the children learn in school and they perform in school uniform. This year is special as it's the first time both children are in Celebration of Learning together. It also marks 弟弟's 1 year anniversary at the school. Wonder why this year the 3 year old children are not performing. Maybe the teachers don't wanna stress them as they just started 3 months into the school term.

姐姐's class start first. She is selected to give the opening speech for the 1st song and 2nd recital. She was standing at the 2nd row, not able to get clear photos. When we get her ready this morning, she clearly wants twin tails. No wonder, as almost all the girls in her class are in twin tails.

Buah-buahan song. 姐姐 take the rambutan role. When the children sing "Ini rambutan" she came out with the rambutan cutout and wave it while kneeling. Can't take a clear photo here either :(

Mandarin song, 好孩子. Luckily this time she is at the front.

Getting ready for Beamind English "A friend in need is a friend indeed"

弟弟's turn, start with "My Family". Two of the children in his class were crying. Luckily that did not affect him, maybe he saw 爸爸 at the side with his video camera. Looking at the photos, there were so many eager parents hovering around them with cameras and stuff, so it's a wonder we didn't scare them to bits. See all the parents' heads and hands that i took in the photos and can't crop out successfully.

Grand Finale with Negaraku and all the other school theme songs. I like the upbeat music and all the children enjoy singing the songs very much. 弟弟 is right in front/at the side so his photos are clearer. 姐姐 who is in eldest class is at the back so hardly able to see her.

After the show time, it's light refreshment with all the parents. Both of them loved the kuih's and jelly. 姐姐 can't wait to show me her new classroom, where the children have lunch and their new children's toilet. The new toilet comes with child size 马桶. Haha... so cute ler.

New hobby - cycling

The children started cycling this weekend as their new bicycle just arrived. They had been dreaming and dreaming about having a bicycle for a long time. Other children already started cycling since 2 or 3 yrs old with the first kiddie bike. 爸爸 being cheapskate, didn't want a kiddie bike that can't last a few years. As usual, we just redeemed from one of the reward programs.

爸爸 took them for short lesson, by the 2nd round around our block they can already start peddling. We got a boy style Hotwheels and girl style Barbie. 姐姐's height is just right for the 16" wheel but 弟弟 is still a bit small for it. However he still manage to "kat 吓 kat 吓" and by evening can even peddle as fast as 姐姐 even though he did not go full cycle. Both doesn't seem to be scared of falling as they just climbed onto the seat by themselves.

We can now see black scratch marks from 弟弟's bicycle, he bumped into the wall here and there as he is learning to control. He was getting better after a few rounds.
New exercise, hope their enthusiasm lasts!
