Her new found love - sushi

Nowadays 姐姐 always ask for sushi whenever we eat outside.

They behaved well the whole day and got dessert Sundae Cone from McD. They loved looking like Santa with their white moustach.






Back at Sushi King again

姐姐 had finished her finals exam! However 弟弟's exams had been postponed as his school is closed for 1 week for HFM prevention. So we went for a treat outside for a change. Initially we wanted to try Pizza Hut's Ultimate Cheezy 7 pizza. However the restaurant we went run out of this type of pizza. So we ended up at Sushi King instead.

While 爸爸 and 弟弟 were still discussing what to order, 姐姐 and I already snapped up several plates of sushi from the kaiten. 弟弟 still don't like sushi, so he had a "Fry Set" instead. We're still not so used to Sushi King's ordering system where you still had to request your waiter to load the order instead of clicking on your own order online at your table.

This single scoop ice-cream is RM1 add on for the set menu. There's choice of vanilla or green tea flavour.

It's a lazy weekend, thus the one in charge of weekend cooking ended up ordering pizza for dinner. This is truly the last time we order any delivery from Pizza Hut. First the online ordering did not recognize our address (the system seemed to have changed compared to previous time we ordered which is long time ago). After fiddling with the online thingy for 20 minutes, 爸爸 called for delivery instead. The order is suppose to reach us by 8:05pm (45 mins). We ordered at around 7:20pm and the pizza arrived 8:45pm.One hour and 25 minutes. The children were so hungry they were having some snacks by the time pizza came. Also they did not put the pizza into the oven-hot thingy. So the late pizza was soggy and no longer hot nor warm. Anyway our children still enjoy the Cheesy 7 pizza. It's so full of cheese that anyone who cannot stand cheese better stay away :) It's only for folks who wants some indulgence (don't think calories and salt content or anything). The list of cheese on this pizza: Romano, Monterey Jack, Parmesan, Provolone, Mozzarella, Cheddar and newly added Philadelphia Cream Cheese. Yum... if it had been hot.

Merentas Desa 越野跑步 at Penang Botanic Gardens

What a walk! We joined 姐姐 for her school event "Merentas Desa" or 越野跑步 at Penang Botanic Gardens (huh, what desa?). She pestered us to go as she always wanted to join whatever activities organized by the school. Besides, their teachers already dangle the "carrot" to children with a souvenir for those who completed the run. We have no idea what the activity is about, so just go for the experience.

We were up early as merentas desa will start at 7:15pm at Taman Kuari. There's a huge jam leading to Botanic Gardens and tonnes of cars parked all along the road. We found later there's a few activities on-going at Botanic Gardens at the same time. Pity the morning walkers/joggers who got caught in jam with us. Can't help it! Gosh it's a steep walk up to the Taman Kuari!

Only school children in the Anniversary t-shirt gets a souvenir, it's stationary set.

We didn't know what route will be taken, and it was a steep walk uphill. We keep encouraging both children to persevere on. The view was breathtaking but we didn't take any photos. We didn't know there is not really a time limit. Being a bit kiasu, we didn't wanna be the last group to arrive. Glad that we finally made it back to the Taman Kuari which is both the starting and ending point. In fact we're very proud of them to make it as I was also panting and tired (爸爸 as usual berlagak and say bor rasa). 姐姐 was very happy with souvenir she got, and she generously shared one of the pencils with 弟弟. Everyone got a coconut with brown sugar bun and a lucky draw number. Too bad we didn't get any lucky draw as prizes are limited.

弟弟 said he don't wanna join next year since don't get souvenir and his legs are aching and tired from the hike. After much convincing that he will get souvenir once he join as standard 1 student, he said "OK la, if got gift I will go".

弟弟 is excited at having his concert. We brought back his costume 2 days ago and nearly lost his sash, but found it at the car park. He told us he is in Indian dance. LOL we found on the day it's a traditional Kadazan dance. Anyway from the look of the costume we have no idea what it is about. Met neighbour at the lift and she had mistaken him for 姐姐 and was so surprised she cut off her hair until so short. I had to tell her it's our boy, maybe it's because of the makeup :D

Finish concert, queue to wait for parents' pickup backstage. We sent 姐姐 to bring him out this year, so we goyang kaki while waiting for him. Thank you, 姐姐!

He said it's very hot backstage and he's sweating like mad.

We only manage a few photos as parents really go crazy this year and blocked the stage. Even though we were super early and got front row seats, it's not any help when it comes to taking photos or videos. Those heads/big bods just got in the way. But we're proud of him as he manage to squeeze out and let us take a few clearer shots/vids of him whenever he saw 爸爸 nearby.

Ballet Primary exam done

姐姐 had taken her ballet ISTD primary exam today. Even though we were up early, but I'm still not used to tying up her bun in super neat way. End up spent more than 20 mins just to get the bun done. Next year must let her fringe grow out earlier to make it easier to bun.

She bump into her ex-classmates from kindy. She start warm-up and practise when her partner came. In the rush to make it 1 hour earlier than exam time, I forgot to bring the camera for last minute snap-shot. Well maybe Ms Grace won't allow photos :P Try my luck next year.

She told us she is fine after the exam, and we started getting busy with new leotards for Grade 1. She'd be getting a sky blue leotard in size D (apa itu?). We saw girls going on to Grade 2 trying out rose pink leotard and black character shoes. Her class will be a little earlier and for full 1 hour now.

He's very willing to pose with anything Lightning. He already has some Lightning stuff, such as his school bag, pencil case, even toothpaste has Lightning picture. Not to mention some books on Cars.
